The Dance

In room 1 we are learning to describe. I tried to include some long and short sentences, adjectives, adverbs, juicy verbs to start a sentence and a simile or a metaphor. What I found challenging was writing a good hook.

Butterflies swarmed in my tummy. The heat close to melting me. Then it happened… My jazz dance teacher asked us to line up in the hallway. My jazz friends and I were in the dressing room.

As we lined up we wished good luck to each other. As we walked down the hall, I felt sick. Handfuls of butterflies whizzed around in my tummy. I slowly padded to my starting position backstage.

The curtains slowly rolled open, my friends on stage held their pose. They were perfectly still. Then the music played… still nobody moved. The person at the music desk played the wrong music. The music was quickly corrected to dear future husband. Then we began to dance.
